about

In 1985 an unknown "American" band hailing from Big Sur in California dropped a package at the doors of the Play It Again headquarters in Brussels.
Four 12"s and an LP later they had to reveal they were only half American and hailed from Brussels.
Their fifth single: "Poison!" hit gold. A firm staple in the New Beat dancings. Weathermen weren't a New Beat band, they weren't even an EBM band. Though their label branded 'em as such on the groundbreaking "This Is Electronic Body Music" sampler
Weathermen were tongue in cheek, they were humour on the next level.
They were a studio band...or not? In 1988 they went on tour...
Here are the missing backingtapes of this world tour freshly remastered for your pleasure by Eric Van Wonthergem.
Plus those of the short reunion tour of 2006 and the last ever gig at Kissinger in 2009.

Brought to you in two formats:
A 6-track Picturedisc including a downloadcode for all 22 backingtracks, limited to 500 copies.
A 2cd with a selection of 17 of these instrumental backingtracks on CD1 and a live concert, taped on 30 September 2009 at Cahier The Brouillon in Hoogstraten on CD2, limited to 200 copies.

Thank you Kenny Gates for letting us release this project and thank you Dimitri Wool-E for releasing it.

The Weathermen's logo was originally photocopied by Olivier Lefevre back in the days at PIAS/Cureghem and was then re-scanned by Benoit St Moulin
The minidisc live performance was unearthed by Stephane Werquin.
Thanks to Juliette Kühle for German tour pictures and live VHS (to be seen on Youtube)
Also thanks to Jochem Beckers for the live footage shot at the Bodybeats Festival in Hof Ter Lo in 2009, even if we didn't use it in the end. (look it up on Youtube)
